Why Pink ?

Pink Inspiration :

Why is it we all love PINK so much? who knows, well I think we all do, maybe as at a young age growing up everything we are given is PINK from that first blanket, teddy's to clothes, dolls, lollies, fairy floss (cotton candy) and have you noticed fairy floss (cotton candy) has that beautiful soft muted PINK and then when you eat it, it turns to a hot PINK shade yeeeah two shades of PINK in one, anyway getting back to it, hand bags, play make-up, hair ribbons, the list is endless. Girls are PINK and boys are BLUE is'nt that what is drummed into us, well I think not! who is'nt that what is drummed into us, well I think not! who would'nt love PINK it such a beautiful colour, from your soft muted PINKS to the loudest PINKS, either way every shade of PINK is beautiful, I once read some where, if you stand at your bedroom doorway looking in, the far right hand corner you should put PINK in that corner as this is your love corner, and this would help love and romance in your relationship, let me just say yep! it dose work......I will let you in on a secret I love going down to my local paint store stand in front of the colour chit wall looking how all the shades of PINK run into each other (and other colours but where talking about PINK) how I'd love to ask for a sample pot of muted PINK to dark PINK and every shade in between, Yum! so now I'd like to quote a passage out of my bible on colour, this book if you don't have it you must go and get it! It is call Your Colours Your Home.

PINK

Peaceful and soft, pink is an easier colour to use than red, diffusing its heat and strength into something calmer.

Sensual > caring > nurturing > romantic

Many pinks are soft and feminine. Our physical response to pink is to produce noradrenaline, which has a peaceful and calming effect. Pink is said to be a supportive colour to people suffering from stress. Pink is flattering to the skin, highlighting its tones.

Pinks range from the slightly sugary pink associated with romance through to the brighter pinks associated with the tropics. As a floral colour, rose pink is a popular choice for bedrooms and bathrooms. Shocking bright pink, such as cerise and magenta, are best used as accents and for accessories in modern environments. Although pink is often paired with blue, its natural contrast colour is green. The combination of these two colours work well in both traditional and contemporary design.

Warm tones of pink, including shades of salmon and browny pinks used in period houses, are popular with Autumn personalities. Winters prefer icy pinks or strong magenta, whilst Springs favour clear, warm pinks that work well in living areas of the house and in bedrooms. The cooler summertime pinks are understated and are often combined -like the pinks of sweet peas- with soft blues and gentle yellows. End quote....written by Pennie Cullen & Carolyn Warrender.
